Newborn Care With Courage

Baby Care & Postpartum Class

Take our 3 hour postpartum education class, Newborn Care With Courage.

Eager to learn how  to breastfeed? Want to have a game plan for naps and bedtime routines?  Interested in safe sleeping info? Still want to have a connective relationship with your partner after baby is born??

The babymoon is a period of time following the birth of a baby when new parents focus on establishing a bond with their child. It’s regarded as a crucial time for a family to establish itself. We know you want to thrive as a family- this class will help you hit the ground running in the postpartum time. Designed to help expectant parents plan for and navigate the postpartum time with evidence-based information, this 3 hour in-person class is taken prenatally, ideally between 12-36 weeks (but anytime is fine!). We will cover postpartum planning and support; changing identity, roles and relationships; breastfeeding; infant needs, cues and soothing techniques; sleep scenarios; and more! Singles are welcome to bring a friend, family member, or support person. If you are taking childbirth classes, you do not need to be finished with them to attend.

In this Babymoon class, you’ll learn:

  • Postpartum planning, managing visitors, and finding good support in those early weeks after the birth
  • Changing identities, roles, and expectations of new parents, and navigating your relationships after baby arrives
  • Lactation, pumping, and bottle feeding basics
  • Infant needs, cues and soothing techniques
  • Safe sleep scenarios, what is normal regarding infant sleep, and how to get more of it!
  • Postpartum physical recovery and comfort measures
  • Emotional and mental wellness in the fourth trimester
